Postgraduate Centre Human Settlements (PGC HS)
MaHS MaUSP Centre
The Postgraduate Centre Human settlements is an academic centre at the Department of Architecture, Urbanism and Planning of the Faculty of Engineering, K.U.Leuven. It is known worldwide by specialists in this field and has a remarkable history of over 20 years.
It coordinates since 2005-2006 the integration of the Dutch language Master program 'Stedenbouw en Ruimtelijke Ordening' into the revised English language Program
Master of Urbanism and Strategic Planning (MaUSP).
These changes have caused the name of the Centre to shift from PGC HS to MaHS MaUSP Centre, thus underligning the integration of the aspects urbanism and strategic planning into its activities.
The Centre now coordinates both the Master programs
Master of Urbanism and Strategic Planning (MaUSP) as well as the well established
Master of Human Settlements program (MaHS) and interacts with the various research activities of the department.
By consequence, the Centre has taken over nearly all of the educational responsibilities of the 'Instituut voor Stedenbouw en Ruimtelijke Ordening' which can now fully focus on research projects.
